Transport Boxes for Granulate and Regrind in Plastics Recycling

SIKOPLAST transport boxes are steel containers for in-plant transport and intermediate storage of granulate and regrind in recycling and production systems. They buffer bulk materials between individual process steps, can be connected directly to granulation systems, extruders and bagging stations, and are designed for continuous operation in recycling systems.

Companies that process granulate in batches or need to buffer between different production steps benefit from this solution. The boxes can be integrated into existing recycling lines and complement the SIKOPLAST component range as a link between extruder, granulation system and filling.

Structural Features

  • Robust housing of steel construction, durable and mechanically resilient
  • Large filling opening with support lid for simple and safe filling
  • Sight glass for fill level monitoring and material inspection during operation
  • Compact design for space-saving use in production environments
  • Compatible with the SIKOPLAST component range (granulation systems, conveyor belts, silos)

Applications

SIKOPLAST transport boxes can be used flexibly in different process steps:

  • Intermediate buffering of granulate: between extrusion and filling or packaging
  • Material transport: of flakes, regrind and free-flowing plastics within the system
  • Packing for dispatch: as an alternative or supplement to big-bag filling
  • Quality control: through sample collection thanks to sight glass and accessible lid area

Typical materials: PET flakes, PE and PP granulate, PA regrind, technical plastics in granular or powdered form, and other free-flowing thermoplastics.

Integration into SIKOPLAST Recycling Systems

The transport boxes are modularly designed and can be combined with further SIKOPLAST components. A typical system integration provides for granulate to be transferred directly from the granulation system – such as an air- or water-cooled system of the HG or HAW series – into the transport boxes. From there, the material can be guided into silos, to filling stations or directly for further processing.

Why SIKOPLAST?

SIKOPLAST has been developing and manufacturing systems and components for plastics recycling for over 70 years. All purchased parts come from German manufacturers. The transport boxes are structurally designed for continuous operation in recycling systems, with a maintenance-friendly design, good accessibility and a construction tailored to the specific requirements of plastics processing.

FAQ

Which materials are the transport boxes suitable for?

The boxes are suitable for free-flowing bulk materials such as granulate, flakes and regrind from thermoplastic plastics, including PE, PP, PET, PA and technical plastics in granular or powdered form.

How are the transport boxes filled?

Via the large filling opening with support lid. This enables fast manual or automated filling directly from upstream units such as granulation systems or cutting mills.

What is the sight glass for?

The sight glass enables fill level monitoring and visual material inspection during ongoing operation, without the box needing to be opened. This saves time and reduces interruptions in the production process.

Can the transport boxes be integrated into existing recycling systems?

Yes. The transport boxes can be integrated as buffer and transport containers into existing lines, for example downstream of extruders or granulation systems and upstream of silos or filling stations.

Can the transport boxes also be obtained individually?

Yes. SIKOPLAST components are available both individually to supplement existing systems and as part of a complete recycling line.
